The Jeep name has been around for 75+ years now, and in that time the brand name has certainly become iconic. So iconic that Jeep’s have been in many famous shows and movies throughout the years. Specifically, we can think of movies and TV shows from the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s that feature Jeeps.
“Dukes of Hazzard” is a famous comedy show from the ‘80s and it is known for its iconic orange Dodge Charger nicknamed, “General Lee,”, but that isn’t the only vehicle remembered from the show. There was also a 1980 Jeep CJ-7 named “Golden Eagle” that Daisy got and drove after her Plymouth was destroyed in a famous scene.
Ah, Back to the Future”, another 80s favorite of many! Back to the Future features several cars including the movie’s signature car, the DeLorean. But if you think back to the film, you might remember the scene where Marty grabs onto the back of a Jeep Wrangler and ride on his skateboard because he is late to school. [click to continue…]
The all-new 2017 Jeep Compass is here and it is better than ever before. Jeep rectified the Compass for the 2017 model year with an all-new design and added a new Compass model that is specifically made for off-roading.
The new 2017 Compass looks like a cross between a Renegade and a Cherokee and it has less of a boxy design than it had in the past. The front headlights are modern and of course, it has Jeep’s classic seven-slot front grille.

So, which is for you?
Engine, Performance and Fuel Economy
The Patriot, Renegade and Cherokee all have different base engines.
The base engine on the Jeep Renegade is a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder MultiAir turbo engine. Jeep lovers, if your lease is up in 2018, get excited because there are some new Jeep models coming your way. We briefly introduced you to the Jeep Wrangler Pickup truck and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat a few months ago, but now we have more information on the new models!
Jeep Wrangler Pickup
If you weren’t paying attention before, we hope you are now. Yes, Jeep is bringing back the Wrangler Pickup and though we still don’t know too much, we now know about the engine and some of the exterior materials.
The engine will be a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and it will be available with a manual or an automatic transmission. The body frame will still be made from steel, however, the door panels will be wrapped in aluminum. The substitution of aluminum for steel will make the vehicle lighter, so it is safe to say performance and fuel economy will get a helping hand.

There are a couple Jeep models that are available in the “Trailhawk” trim and for the 2017 model year, a couple more Trailhawk trims are joining the pack. “Trailhawk” trims feature additional off-roading equipment that help the Jeep earn its “Trail Rated” badge and help it conquer the toughest terrains. So, what is different on a Jeep Trailhawk trim that makes it so capable? Check it out below.
Trailhawk Models + “Trail Rated” Badges
In 2017 there will be four Trailhawk trims — Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and Jeep Compass Trailhawk. Each of these models have a “Trail Rated” badge. This badge means that the vehicle is designed to perform in a variety of challenging off-road conditions identified by five key consumer-oriented performance categories: traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation and water fording.
Off-roading is fun, but can be frustrating if you get stuck, so every Trailhawk model is equipped with the Trailhawk’s signature red tow hooks. In addition to adding style, the vibrant red color makes the tow hooks easier to spot when stuck in mud or at night. There is one rear tow hook and two in the front. The rear hook can be used for towing and the front hooks can be used to pull out your own Trailhawk or someone else’s vehicle if stuck. [click to continue…]
Joining the Renegade lineup for the 2017 model year, are two new Renegade models. If you don’t know about the Renegade, it is a CUV (compact utility vehicle) that challenges Jeep’s classic look, while not being unrecognizable as a Jeep. The base trim Renegade has is fuel efficient and versatile on and off the road, whereas the top level Renegade trims have everything needed for a day spent off-roading. Check them out below.
Limited-edition Jeep Renegade Deserthawk
The Renegade Deserthawk trim is what it sounds like – a Jeep that can fly when off-roading anywhere, even in the desert. This limited-edition trim is like the Renegade Trailhawk, but it has more stylized features.
The Renegade Deserthawk is available in a few color options including Alpine White, Anvil, Black, or the Deserthawk-exclusive Mojave Sand color. We recommend the Mojave Sand color because it is compliments the Renegade Deserthawk’s theme. Other exterior features like 17-inch black painted wheels, a Trail Rated badge, exclusive body decals and rock rails are all standard with this model. [click to continue…]
