2016 Ram 1500 – Miami, FL

Looking for a 2016 Ram 1500 for sale is simple, but finding the right dealership isn’t. Where potential patrons go to buy their vehicle is just as important as which vehicle to buy. At Kendall Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Miami, FL, we understand this, and it’s why so many people turn to our dealership for all their new and used vehicle shopping.

If you’re interested in shopping for a new vehicle, let’s take a look at the 2016 Ram 1500. Ram trucks have never been better, and sales have only gone up since their re-release in 2009. Even though times have changed, Ram’s dedication to making tough, versatile, and capable trucks hasn’t. Apart from being the more rugged looking truck on the 2016 market, the outside of the Ram 1500 has never in it’s history seen so many add-on features to help make work easier, and the engines have never worked harder and smarter than they do now.

Powerful Engine Options

A Practical Design

While the bold and rugged nature remained the same, Ram still made sure to give the 1500 exterior some performance/utility oriented upgrades. Leading the way (literally) are the Active Air Grille Shutters. These shutters are a primary component of the newly evolved aerodynamics featured in Ram trucks, which come standard on all models — even the diesel. During lower speeds, the shutters will open to allow more air-flow over the engine, helping it stay cool. But during highway speeds, these shutters automatically close to prevent an otherwise substantial amount of wind drag. In turn, this improves the fuel economy and aerodynamics of these trucks.

Next on the list, the available Rambox Cargo Management system is a class exclusive option that greatly improves the storage utility of the 1500. This system is built into the side rails of the truck bed, and has an answer to every potential problem that comes with adding exterior storage space. It’s lit for when it gets dark out, drainable for heavy rainfall, locked and secured so nothing gets stolen, and durable enough so that anything stored in the bed won’t damage it. Along with its utility, the system also comes with a bed extender/divider that can be used to make the truck bed longer. Simply drop the tailgate and securely latch on the device, and add the length of the tailgate to the overall storage space of the truck bed. Or, drop it in the middle as a partition to help keep things organized.

Powerful Engines

Those are only a couple of the more prominent upgrades to storage space and function seen in the exterior design and there are still many more. But, storage and aerodynamics mean little when compared to the capability and towing capacity of a truck. Because in the end, Ram trucks are meant for working, and work starts with the engine. The Ram 1500 has three trim-dependent engine options: the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, 5.7-liter Hemi V8, and 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6.

3.6-liter Pentastar V6

The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine is Ram’s go-to engine for the consumer with basic needs. It puts out 305 horsepower, 269 lb-ft of torque, and a towing capacity of 7,610 pounds. The horsepower and torque provide enough power to tow smaller equipment trailers, and more than enough power for towing an average-size bass boat.

The Pentastar engine is also built to last, and has a silent chain timing drive that offers impressive noise reduction, which also extends the overall life of the engine. The addition of a pulse-width-modulated fuel pump and cooling fan allow the engine to net up to 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, while Variable Valve Timing with a thermal management system helps balance the horsepower and torque with the fuel economy. In the end, Ram has created the perfect truck for those with basic work needs.

5.7-liter HEMI V8

For more power, the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine is the next step up and it doesn’t disappoint. This engine leads the engine lineup in capability and strength, and is famous for the legendary performance that HEMI engines provide to vehicles. This engine puts out a massive 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, with a towing capacity of 10,650 pounds, which is quite impressive for a half-ton pickup.

The fuel saver technology onboard is able to deactivate half the cylinders when cruising under light loads, which helps save gas. Because of that, a Ram 1500 equipped with this engine is still able to get up to 15 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. Naturally, these fuel ratings are for a 4×2 model, and the efficiency decreases a little when any of these engines are paired to a 4×4 model.

3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6

If the cleaner and more efficient diesel engine is your preference, Ram also offers an unsurpassed diesel powertrain warranty. Why? Because, they are confident their diesel engine can live up to whatever it encounters. The warranty is a five-year/100,000 mile Diesel Powertrain Limited Warranty. This is validates the durability and capability of Ram’s diesel engine, and the 5-year/60,000 mile Gas Powertrain Limited Warranty is proof of the efficacy of Ram’s gas-powered engines.

For towing and rough job sites, a good suspension is one of the most valuable assets a truck can have, which is why Ram made sure their Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension is the best around.

Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension

For towing and rough job sites, a good suspension is one of the most valuable assets a truck can have, which is why Ram made sure their Active-Level Four-Corner Air Suspension is the best around. This available suspension offers automatic load leveling, and was created to specifically help improve capability. The adjustable air springs help drivers raise and lower the vehicle depending on what ride-height is needed, and smart sensors will automatically lower the truck at highway speeds to increase efficiency. This class-exclusive suspension is just another one of many ways Ram continues to grow, improve, and push forward on the ever competitive truck market.
