The Jeep Gladiator has won a new title thanks to voters in an annual event that is among the most coveted in the automotive industry. Every January, the votes are counted, and the winners are announced for the distinguished North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year Awards. The 2020 awards have just been named with great results for Jeep. After the panel of independent jurors, 50 automotive journalists from both the United States and Canada, selected the winners, the Jeep brand’s name was called. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator mid-size pickup won for the truck category. Considering the competition and how the Gladiator is a brand new truck, this is a massive victory for Jeep and parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).

Brief History of Jeep Gladiator

FCA knew they had a niche with Jeep and the Jeeper fans when the first announcement of sales for the Gladiator launched in early 2019. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator sold out in less than a day and the success has continued through the production launch. The Jeep Gladiator affords many drivers with a low-price point for a mid-size pickup that offers Best-in-class towing, the reliability of a Jeep vehicle, unreal off-road abilities, and a stunning look that is instantly recognizable. This is how the Gladiator won the selection as the North American Truck of the Year in Detriot, Michigan.

What Comes With the Jeep Gladiator?

Every Gladiator provides a 5-link coil suspension system for both the front and back, and available on-road safety features like rear cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot warnings, and adaptive cruise control, among others. Above the Sport trim, each Gladiator supplies 32-inch Bridgestone tires, with the highest-trim carrying Falken all-terrain tires. The base trim inserts a 5-inch touchscreen for the Uconnect infotainment system, while the Sport S and Overland trim have a 7-inch screen. The high-end Rubicon has the largest screen at 8.4-inches. The larger screen is an available option for the Sport and Overland trims.

Customers can buy a 2020 Jeep Gladiator with four unique trim options. The base trim of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport is a solid choice for owners. The Sport starts off at $33,545 MSRP (plus destination fee), followed by Sport S trim that begins at $36,745 MSRP (plus destination fee), succeeded by the Overland trim at $40,395 MSRP (plus destination fee). Finally, the fourth and best trim option, the Rubicon trim, is available at $43,545 MSRP (plus destination fee).

Going Off-Road Has Never Been Easier, Thanks To the Rubicon

Thinking about going on roads less traveled? A large reason for the selection by voters included the Rubicon with its standard off-road rear bumper, steel rocker guards, and the Bluetooth wireless speaker. The speaker is a feature that can be added to other trims. The Rubicon includes electronic-locking front and rear differentials with a raised fender flare, which allows 35-inch wheel combinations to be added. Off-roading is effortless with the superior Fox monotube shocks, a front-mounted trail camera, and an electronic anti-roll bar disconnect supplied to the Rubicon.
