Avail. Engine Type
The Ram HD pickups come in a number of configurations just like their light-duty counterpart. For the 2021 HD models, Ram offers buyers three engine options, two cab sizes, two truck bed lengths, and two drivetrain options. Standard under the hood of the 2021 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 is a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine capable of generating 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, all while paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. The top-tier engine is a powerful — and redesigned — 6.7-liter Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel engine that’s only available on the Ram 3500 model. The Turbo Diesel Cummins engine generates 400 horsepower and an unprecedented 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, Ram also offers a less potent variant of the Cummins engine that generates 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque, available on both the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 models.
