Capability Features and Options for Any Jeep Renegade Trim
When you think about the Jeep Renegade and capability, you probably think about the Renegade Trailhawk. However, if you don’t plan on off-roading often, but still want capability features to allow for better driving no matter what the weather or terrain conditions, there are other options for the Jeep Renegade.
- 4X4 – All Renegade models but the Renegade Trailhawk come standard with a 4X2 drivetrain. However, all Renegade models can be upgraded with a 4X4 drivetrain and that’s a great place to start for buyers that are looking for more capability.
- Electronic switch – Renegade 4×4 models come with an electronic switch connected to the Selec Terrain system. This allows drivers to choose between driving modes to adjust the traction to better fit their current driving situation. Different driving modes include auto, snow, sand, mud, and rock.
- Engine – The standard engine for the Renegade is a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 160 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Buyers looking for more capability can upgrade to the available 2.4-liter Tigershark I4 engine, which produces 180 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
- Transmission – Finally, there are two transmission options. Drivers that enjoy using a clutch and manually shifting gears will want to stick with the standard six-speed manual, and drivers that like automatic transmissions will want to opt for the available nine-speed automatic transmission.
