Chrysler Pacifica Takes Home Another IIHS Top Safety Pick

The good news for Chrysler is a familiar piece of news for them; the Chrysler Pacifica has been awarded a TOP SAFETY PICK rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) for the 2023 Pacifica. This is something we’ve come to expect as the top selling minivan is no stranger to take me home this award. The Pacifica has won this distinction seven years in a row and has never looked better. 

“The Chrysler Pacifica is America’s most awarded minivan for 7 years running and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica stands alone among minivans with its 97 standard-equipment safety and security features and its renowned versatility. The total package delivers the superior level of driving confidence consumers want and deserve,” said Chrysler brand CEO Chris Feuell.

2023 Pacifica Offers New Safety Perks 

Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is one of the main the safety features that come standard on the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. A feature that provides assisting drivers from not hitting a bystander that gets in the way of the Pacifica. This inclusion is an essential perk that sets up the vehicle to qualify for an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK rating this decade. The IIHS recently revamped their ratings system in 2020 to include a stronger emphasis on AEB and headlight functionality. The 2023 Pacifica includes LED headlamps as standard equipment, along with daytime running lamps, fog lamps and tail lamps that benefit from LED technology. LED tech gives drivers a more balanced beam of light that also reduces glare for oncoming traffic. Not to mention, the cargo space provided is stellar.

The Pacifica offers 165 cubic-feet and 140.5 cubic-feet of cargo volume. Rivals including the Toyota Sienna offers just 101 cubic-feet of cargo volume, while the Odyssey also has less passenger volume for drivers. When looking at pricing, the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica starts at $38,540 MSRP (Plus destination fee). That figure is only slightly more than some of the competitors, but considering all the perks offered, drivers can’t be that concerned especially with all the amenities included.

The Pacifica has also seen improvement in the vehicle’s functionality. The Chrysler minivan remains North America’s sole minivan with second-row Stow ‘n Go seating, a perk that offers fold-in-the-floor seating convenience, and available all-wheel-drive perks.
