Dodge Challenger To Be Shelved After 2023?

Kendall 2021 Dodge Challenger

Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, has put together a plan to push electrified vehicles to the forefront of their business. The Dodge Challenger has been a major muscle car staple dating back to the 1960s with its origin. The current landscape has Stellantis moving the Dodge muscle product off the shelf as part of the corporate plan to move faster into the EV realm where its new options like the 2023 Dodge Hornet crossover will take over. A report has come out that says the Challenger will be retired after the 2023 model year, but we’ll know within a couple weeks if this is speculation or the plan for the Dodge brand. This ride has been a collector’s item and beloved, so we’re taking that report with tens of pounds of salt.

More Batteries On Their Way

Stellantis has already seen their efforts not go to waste and reaped the benefits compared to last year this time. The grouping of these brands shows the commitment towards a slew of promising developments. Not to mention the outstanding amount of investments towards pursuing new vehicles and money infused towards the production side of things, including a massive $3 billion dollar infusion to pursue EV batteries at a new state-of-the-art battery factory plant. Let’s look at the next steps that have been in the works for the Dodge brand in the past few months and years and now we’re seeing the fruits of their labor coming to fruition.

Years of Planning Ahead Leads To This Moment

The head of Stellantis has come right out and added this statement to speak to the people who love their products. Dodge will be a brand that sees most of the early benefits of a transition towards fuel-required rides. The upcoming all-new 2023 Dodge Hornet crossover has the potential to really jump ahead in both sales as customers locate this as a proven option. New vehicles are less known even with promotions and commercials; people need to see the vehicle on the road to really be psyched for a new ride.

“The customer is always at the heart of Stellantis and our commitment with this 30-billion-plus (euros) investment plan is to offer iconic vehicles that have the performance, capability, style, comfort and electric range that fit seamlessly into their daily lives,” said CEO Carlos Tavares.
