Don’t Miss Zoo Lights at the Miami Zoo
Celebrating holiday traditions with loved ones can be a great way to spend time together during this special time of year. Spending a day looking for the perfect tree for your living room is the tradition of some families, while others spend an evening caroling in their neighborhood. Baking special Christmas cookies, doing craft projects, and making homemade eggnog, are other cherished traditions. One other tradition that might not be on all of your To Do lists this holiday season, is packing up your Dodge Ram truck and going to the Miami Zoo for Zoo Lights.
The Zoo Lights at the Miami Zoo is an annual event that can easily be your family’s next holiday tradition. From December 20 through December 30, 2013, guests can enjoy special lighted displays throughout the zoo grounds. Each evening, starting at 7pm, guests will be surrounded by animal-shaped light displays, and thousands of tree lights throughout the zoo. Zoo Lights ends at 10pm, so your family will have plenty of time to see all the lights that they zoo has to offer.
Admission for the special holiday event is just $5 per person, and includes 3D glasses, admission into the zoo, and the experience of seeing the zoo decorated in holiday lights. For an additional cost, guests can “ice-skate,” take carousel rides, sip on hot cocoa, eat cookies, and take a photo with Santa Claus. Zoo lights will not be taking place December 24 or 25. You can buy tickets at the Miami zoo, or purchase them in advance online to avoid the lines. The Miami Zoo offers free parking, and is located just a half mile off of Florida’s Turnpike at Exit 16. Let us know what you think, and if this will be a new tradition for your family!
