These days, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is rocking the auto industry, especially when it comes to their prized vehicle brands, Jeep® and Ram. The Ram brand actually deserves some of the most recognition as of late. Every week, it feels like Ram Trucks is releasing a new model or special edition, be it the 2018 Ram Harvest Edition for Chassis Cabs, the new midsize pickup truck, the Ram Power Wagon Mojave Sand appearance package, and finally, the Ram Rodeo Edition. Speaking of the rodeo, the Texas Automotive Writers Association (TAWA) recently concluded its Texas Truck Rodeo competition, and Ram Trucks came out on top.

What exactly is the “Texas Truck Rodeo” competition? Why, only the best way to find out the best pickup trucks, SUVs, crossovers, and commercial vehicles in the nation. Heck, just this year alone, there were 57 vehicles entered into the competition, from a variety of 19 automotive brands. It was quite the show.

To find out the best-of-the-best, 69 TAWA members evaluated the various vehicles over the first two days of the competition, and then entered their ballot. Each vehicle was evaluated for its exterior and interior style, their capabilities, performance, and comfort. All-in-all, there were 24 awards to win, and FCA grabbed 15 of the 24 awards, more than half!

Take a guess at who one the most. Yep, it was Ram Trucks. The new Ram 1500 won the “Full-Size Pickup Truck of Texas”, “Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas”, “Off-Road Pickup Truck of Texas”, “ “Best New Technology” (thanks to the 12-inch touchscreen), and the Best Powertrain” (thanks to eTorque) awards. Other Ram trucks won awards too, such as the Ram Power Wagon winning “Heavy Duty Pickup Truck of Texas”.

“The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 stole the hearts of our members this year, and has earned our highest honor as the 2019 Truck of Texas. It’s not only capable, but it is comfortable, and the attention to detail is unlike anything in the truck market. It’s a home run for the Ram brand that scored the Truck of Texas trophy,” said Michael Marrs, President of TAWA.

Out of all the vehicles there, the pickup truck to be named “Truck of Texas” was the Laramie Longhorn trim on the 2019 Ram 1500. Being a pickup truck designed with the wild west and cowboys in mind, it’s no surprise that the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn came out on top. Other FCA brand vehicles also won some awards, such as the Dodge Durango SRT winning the “Full-Size SUV” award for the second consecutive year, or the Jeep Grand Cherokee winning “Mid-Size Luxury SUV” for the seventh consecutive year. Then there’s the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler that won “Off-Road SUV of Texas” and “Mid-Size SUV of Texas”.

That’s Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for you. FCA is rising in sales, investing in autonomous technology, and wins all sorts of awards. Find these award-winning vehicles and more at Kendall Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram.
