We’ve talked about the updates coming to the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) line-up, from their plans of building the 2020 Jeep Wrangler PHEV to their plans on the upcoming revival of the Jeep Wagoneer, but FCA has more plans for Jeep coming up. Though a large revamp is going on for the Jeep brand, even more details have come out regarding the plans for Jeep. Keep in mind the diesel version of the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator mid-size pickup are also a welcomed addition to the Jeep line-up. We’re here to keep our readers informed on all things Jeep and have the latest for the future of the iconic Jeep brand.

Jeep SUV Segment Expanding

A new three-row Jeep SUV is expected to be built, most likely named the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The Jeep Wagoneer will return to the Jeep fold for the first time since 1993. We’re excited to see how this vehicle will fit into the current landscape of large SUVs, a segment that Jeep has largely focused on with their Jeep Grand Cherokee. Expanding vehicles in this segment for Jeep leaves customers with plenty to choose from. New plug-in hybrid vehicles joining the Jeep SUV scene include Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass. The original Jeep Grand Wagoneer vehicles only offered 11 MPG, but that number will definitely rise with the newest version being built by Jeep. Even more good news is coming down the pipeline for the brand and Jeepers hoping for revamped Jeep products.

New Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to start its production run in the first half of 2021. The FCA Jefferson North plant, located in Detroit, Michigan has begun a $900 million renovation to upgrade the facility responsible for the next-generation Grand Cherokee and continued production of the Dodge Durango. FCA has also amassed a $1.5 billion expansion to the Warren Truck plant that will be responsible for building the 2021 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Alongside both of those vehicles will be FCA’s Ram 1500 Classic pickup. FCA operates with over 100 state-of-the-alert manufacturing facilities around the world. Michigan is lucky to host both of the plants responsible for the Jeep brand’s expansion in the next decade. A streamlined process is expected with the quality of Jeep production vehicles never in question.
