The Jeep Renegade is So Good It’s Hard to Compare
Looking for a CUV? The Jeep® Renegade is truly your best option, the competition just can’t keep up. Some competing vehicles like the Honda HR-V, Chevy Trax and Buick Encore just can’t beat the engine, style, and off-road capability of the Jeep Renegade.
Engine and fuel efficiency
The base trim level Renegade comes with a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces up to 160 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Then, there is an upgraded engine option that comes standard on the two highest trim levels. This engine is a 2.4-liter Tigershark I-4 engine that produces an additional 20 horses (180 horsepower) and 184 horsepower.
You may assume because the vehicle is a CUV that it has just average fuel economy. Fortunately, that is not true. The base 1.4-liter engine gets an EPA estimated 24 city and 31 highway mpg, pretty impressive! Even the stronger engine still gets an estimated 21 city and 29 high mpg.
When it comes to style, there is no doubt the Renegade is one of the best looking CUVs out there. The Renegade keeps the classic Jeep aggressive styling with a bubbly touch which is new to Jeep. Standard exterior features for the base trim level include 16-inch steel wheels, all season tires, daytime running halogen headlamps and more. Inside, standard cloth seats, a silver shift knob, and a rear 60/40 split folding seat comes with the Renegade for style and convenience.
Of course, if you want to upgrade your CUV, higher trim levels come with features including leather seats, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, all-weather floor mats and more are available. Additional options include larger wheels (18-inch and 17-inch), all-terrain tires, MySky removable roof panels and much more.
The Jeep Renegade is one of the most off-road capable CUV options on the market. If off-roading is your thing, the Renegade Trailhawk trim is your dream CUV. The Renegade Trailhawk comes off-road ready with features including tow hooks, a one-inch lift, all-terrain tires, the more powerful 2.4-liter engine and skid plates.
In addition to the exterior features, the Renegade has a unique off-road system and the Renegade Trailhawk comes with Jeep’s selec-terrain system. This system adjusts traction to needed wheels depending on the terrain. There are five off-road options including auto, snow, sand, mud and rock. The system also comes with hill start assist and hill descent control.
