Jeep Set To Be A Green Machine

Jeep brought back its iconic Wagoneer and created the first-ever Jeep Grand Wagoneer to compete in the increasingly popular luxury three-row SUV class. Moreover, Meunier and his team are targeting motorists in key markets (Europe, China, and Latin America) to expand Jeep’s shopper base. North America produces up two-thirds of Jeep’s global vehicle sales.

“There is a very big product offensive across the globe … [our] reliance on North America is getting less and less every day, The 392 is more of a niche market — 3% of total Wrangler sales. So very limited in volume and very exclusive. Our vision is really to be the zero-emission freedom brand and we have a plan to get there. It’s clearly a commitment to say we’re the greenest SUV brand in the world. Twenty-five percent of our sales in the U.S. are 4xe” Meunier said. 

The CEO of Jeep made mention of a popular Jeep Wrangler Magneto concept that debuted a little over a year ago but has not been put into motion just yet as an official production vehicle. Only the nameplate has been claimed by the Jeep brand. Jeep is looking to become more efficient in the way they build their vehicles and one surefire way is to create EVs that limit the number of greenhouse gasses and stay true to the Jeep brand’s goal of being the green company they are.
