Jeep Will Soon Offer Premiere Electric Luxury Vehicles
Jeep is showing images across its social media platforms, like Facebook, that show a roofless Jeep product with a hybrid powertrain displayed on the infotainment screen. This highlights the next 4xe trim set to debut for most likely the Jeep Gladiator for the 2022 model year. We expect the Jeep brand to offer the 4xe trim across more than the Wrangler and Gladiator before long with the Renegade and Compass could gain this new electric trim. Jeep is also working on developing its next line-up of luxurious three-row SUVs.
Step Into the Grand Wagoneer Life
The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is coming back as an all-new large three-row SUV this summer. There’s also a more affordable and less expensive Wagoneer option, but its fuel economy ratings have not yet been declared. All Grand Wagoneer vehicles use a naturally aspirated 6.4-Liter V8 powertrain that delivers 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, and four-wheel drive is standard. The V8 has cylinder deactivation to help conserve gasoline. The powertrains are joined to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The EPA expects that the Grand Wagoneer will average 18 mpg on the highway. The Wagoneer is feasibly expected to be more effective at conserving fuel given the 5.7-Liter V8 engine with a 48-volt belt-driven motor/generator system called eTorque.
Next Steps For Jeep
Jeep maintains that both a hybrid model and hands-free driving will be available ultimately. The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will come this summer, starting at $88,995 MSRP (Plus Destination Fee). Jeep is working its way towards a different future of electric vehicles. Not only will these vehicles serve as a truly remarkable engineering effort for its goal to optimize EV technology, but they will retain their off-road prowess. The Jeep brand is focused on showing off its ability to allow owners to ride nearly anywhere. In the case of the Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the promise of Jeep engineering was something they wanted to refine before they came to be a production vehicle.
“The most important thing for us at Jeep is to prove our capability. That’s what took us a bit longer than everybody else. It had to be a true Jeep first.” – Jim Morrison, Jeep North America VP.
