New Features on 2017 Jeep Renegade and All-New Jeep Compass
Two of Jeep’s most popular compact SUVs are the Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass. To increase their popularity, Jeep is actually introducing an all-new Compass and is adding new features to the Renegade for the 2017 model year. Here’s what we know so far.
2017 Jeep Renegade
In comparison with current year-to-date sales between 2015 and 2016, the Jeep Renegade is leading the pack of Jeep models with a 112 percent increase in sales. With that being said, consumers still love the Renegade, which was only introduced in 2015. The Renegade offers city drivers an excellent and fuel efficient SUV, but it has great off-roading capabilities for when they want to explore.
For the 2017 model year, Renegade models will have new standard and available technology features that weren’t available before. Next year, all Renegade models will be equipped with Keyless Go, a feature that allows drivers keyless entry into the vehicle and push-button vehicle ignition. Additionally, the Renegade will now be available with HID headlamps (late availability) and automatic high-beam headlamps available as options.
Jeep also brags about the more than 70 safety options available on Renegade models, including the availability of Forward Collision Warning-Plus and LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus, which is the first vehicle to offer it in the segment. Another safety and fun feature, is the ability a driver has to change driving modes on the steering wheel controls. Yep, you can now change to mud mode when off-road just by clicking the control on your wheel, which is easier and safer.
2017 Jeep Compass
In the beginning of September Jeep released details about the 2017 Compass lineup being reduced to two trims, but Jeep surprised everyone when later that month they announced that they will actually release an all-new Compass model in the beginning of 2017. So far the details on the all-new model are limited, but here is what we know so far.
From the pictures supplied in the release, the new Compass lineup should include Jeep’s signature Trailhawk trim to add to the brand’s three other Trailhawk models. The all-new Compass will be available with 17 different fuel-efficient powertrain options.
According to the original details about the Compass, the base model Compass has exterior features that come standard to make the vehicle more modern. Some of these features include chrome accents throughout the exterior, the classic seven slot Jeep grille with bright HID headlights. The all-new Compass may also have new technology features, like a new Uconnect multimedia center with SiriusXM and voice activated navigation.
