Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has just learned of some welcomed news. While change is a constant, there is no change in the results so far in 2019 compared to 2018; Ram is beating out the Chevrolet Silverado yet again. The third quarter results have been announced and the facts are telling, especially with the latest results. FCA has adopted the practice of quarterly reports, adopting this style like General Motors has, when reporting sales figures. Formerly FCA would announce their sales after every month, but have officially begun to only report the numbers earned in these quarterly sales reports. Ram will be able to stay humble less often, considering Ram helped FCA steal the show yet again in the third quarter of 2019.

Ram Leads Chevrolet In Sales Yet Again

FCA and Ram have continued to surpass expectations and deliver results. While Ford and their F-Series held first, second place is firmly Ram in terms of pickup sales in the third quarter of 2019. Chevrolet has fallen from its runner-up status for nearly two years since FCA and it’s Ram brand’s Ram Classic and latest Ram 1500, both the 2019 Ram 1500 and 2020 Ram 1500 models being red hot. FCA and Ram sales increased to more than 14% from 142,044 units sold to 161,635 pickups sold. Silverado sold over 6,000 fewer units than Ram sold over the same period of time. Unlike Ram, Ford saw their total sales drop this quarter. This success for Ram is not expected to be over any time soon.

“Whatever the outcome in any one month or quarter, based on what incentives and promotions are offered, the long run trend is for Ram to permanently surpass Chevrolet into second place,” said Jon Gabrielsen, a market analyst and auto adviser.

FCA Total Sales Up Above Record 2018 Year

Despite having a banner 2018, FCA has reported even stronger results this year. The total figures for FCA included 565,034 through three quarters, compared to 564,507 after the third quarter of 2018. Ram has seen success with both their Ram 1500 and strong Ram ProMaster sales.  Ram gained business over last year, unlike other brands under the FCA umbrella, including Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler. Ram is helping steer FCA in the green for the second year in a row.

“Lower interest rates, a stable economy and consumer enthusiasm bolster our belief that new vehicle sales in the U.S. are heading for a strong finish. For us, vehicles like the new Gladiator, our Ram pickups and Dodge muscle cars are pulling customers into showrooms. Our customers are also choosing to purchase higher-trim levels or extra features which are increasing our transaction prices.” Reid Bigland, FCA’s head of U.S. sales and the Ram brand
