The Chrysler Pacifica also offers a new All-Wheel-Drive system for the 2021 model year. Toyota has said they will offer a hybrid powertrain for the Toyota Sienna, but Toyota has not done this yet. Other brands like Honda with its Honda Odyssey only offer a V6 engine. The Kia Carnival will only have a gas-powered V6 engine option also. The 2021 model year brought a refresh that improves in performance and upgrades like crisper graphics, a more modern look, quicker user responses, and functionality additions. Owners now can use Alexa on the Uconnect system. Perks like remote start the van from any Alexa device connected is a nice perk, but driving the Pacifica and using the Alexa voice-activated music selection, streaming, and more features is what has helped fuel the Pacifica to reach its sales goals.

“For the time being, I don’t think that is part of the things that we want to prioritize for the next time window,” Tavares said. I think it’s better that we funnel the talent, the capital, and the engineering capability of our Stellantis company to the existing brands to improve what needs to be improved and to accelerate where we need to accelerate because we already have a very strong presence in this market,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares

More Comparison Among Minivans

By comparison to the other brands trying to compete with the Chrysler Pacific, they won’t match. The Honda Odyssey offers 22 combined fuel economy, whereas the Pacifica Hybrid offers 30 combined gas-only mpg. That’s not even counting its 82 MPGe rating; an incredible rating for owners to appreciate. The Kia Carnival carries a 22 combined mpg. The amount of space for passenger volume and cargo volume also boasts impressive numbers with the Chrysler Pacifica as it carries. The Pacifica offers 165 cubic-feet and 140.5 cubic-feet of cargo volume. The Toyota Sienna only offers 101 cubic-feet of cargo volume, while the Odyssey also has less passenger volume for passengers to enjoy.  

As far as pricing is concerned, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica starts at $36,540 MSRP (Plus destination fee). That figure is higher than some of the competitors, but considering all the perks offered, owners can’t go wrong. The price is actually less than a thousand dollars more than the Sienna minivan.
