Few vehicles have the longevity of the American buyer like a Jeep Wrangler. From the days of its inception into the upcoming 2020 Jeep Wrangler, the popularity continues. With the latest Wrangler set to debut in the fall, we’ll talk a look at the expected changes and reasons for the Jeep product’s popularity. Scott Tallon, Jeep North American Director, even claimed the Dodge Challenger was losing owners due to the success of the Wrangler. Owners have become to trade-in their vehicles to drive one of the most accessible and enjoyable vehicles on the road in the Wrangler. Aside from being a cultural American icon, the Jeep Wrangler is just more fun and capable than any car built in the United States.

“The pony cars… a lot of them got traded-in. Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and even our Dodge Challenger,” said Tallon.

New Engine Option Arrives With 2020 Jeep Wrangler

What might be helping the success of the Jeep Wrangler? Drivers who want to experience the top-notch visibility, the remarkable off-road prowess, and solid fuel economy of a Wrangler. An upcoming brand new 3.0-Liter VV6 EcoDiesel option adds better gas mileage, strong horsepower with 260 hp added, and unreal torque in 442 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder model nets 22 combined, but the 2020 Jeep Wrangler with the EcoDiesel powertrain has not released its mpg just yet. Available for all four-door Sport, Rubicon and Sahara trims, the Wrangler EcoDiesel is sure to become a hit. What else will the Jeep brand add going forward?

2020 Wrangler Apart from Jeep’s Plans For Big 2019 Finish

The third-version of the latest generation Wrangler is expected to help Jeep sales grow for FCA. Jeep moved 1.57 million vehicles in 2018, about one-third of the company’s total sales. In the United States alone, Jeep sales soared up to 17% in 2018. With the 2020 Wrangler set to debut soon, 2019 should close on a strong push for total sales. With investments to create new Jeep vehicles in the near future like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, FCA has invested over $1.6 billion to make a new Detroit plant and FCA has revamped other factories to be able to create more vehicles at a record pace.

Jeep will launch the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Willys Special Edition when the popular mid-size SUV comes out in the fall. A cosmetic upgrade will include a unique hood decal, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and 33-inch off-road tires. For our enjoyment and yours, come test-drive the 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler is currently in its second year of the newest generation, the JL.
