There are seven different trim options and two engine options for the Renegade. The base trim is the Renegade Sport and it is nicely equipped. With the exception of the Renegade Trailhawk that has a standard 4×4 drivetrain, all Renegade trims are available as two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The standard engine on four trims is a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, and the Renegade Trailhawk and Limited trims have the upgraded 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine.

The base 1.4-liter engine generates up to 160 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. To many, the best part of this engine is it’s fuel economy. This engine helps the Renegade to get up to 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, which is excellent for an SUV! The 2.4-liter engine is also impressive as it gets up to 180 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque and has a fuel economy of 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

One of the features mentioned by reviewers is the attractive and comfortable interior of the Renegade. Interior features of the Renegade vary from trim to trim. For example the base and lower level trims come with standard features like cloth seats, 60/40 split folding seats, three rear head restraints, and a cargo compartment lamp. The upper level Renegade Limited and Trailhawk trims come standard with leather seats, a leather wrapped shift knob, and a heated steering wheel.

The Renegade is a four-door compact SUV with the classic seven-slot Jeep front grille and for the most part, the exterior of all Renegade trims is very similar. The Renegade comes standard with 16-inch or 18-inch wheels (depending on the trim), all-season tires and daytime running lamps. The Renegade Trailhawk model comes standard with a hood decal, a Trail Rated badge, and a black painted roof.

There are extra interior and exterior upgrades depending on the trim. The Renegade is available with a variety of wheel sizes, removable sunroof panels and a full-size spare tire. Interior features like leather seats and a black interior color are available options for all Renegade trims, but the leather is standard on the Renegade Limited and Trailhawk.

Entertainment technology is more important than ever and the Renegade comes with plenty of fun technology in all trims. The base trim (Renegade Sport) comes with a four-speaker audio system, and AM/FM radio. Other Renegade trims come standard with a six-speaker system, a 5.0-inch display screen, integrated voice command with Bluetooth, SiriusXM subscription for a year, and UConnect 5.0. Extra options include UConnect 6.5 Navigation, UConnect access, and HD radio.

The Renegade has a 5-star overall crash safety rating from the NHTSA. The Renegade comes standard with advanced multistage airbags, an antilock brake system, electric power steering, electronic roll mitigation, panic brake assist, and a tire pressure monitoring display. Extra safety features like a remote start system, keyless go, and a rearview backup camera are available with all trims and standard on the Limited and Trailhawk trims.

The warranties on the Renegade are the same as the standard warranties on every Jeep. These warranties include a three-year or 36,000 mile basic warranty and a five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
