2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Engine Type

The 2024 Grand Cherokee has many trims and offers two drivetrains. The trims available in a 4×2 or 4×4 configuration are the Laredo, Laredo X, Altitude, Altitude X, Limited, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve are all more than capable with segment leading off-road capabilities.

Jeep offers a 3.6-Liter Pentastar V6 engine as the standard power plant on all vehicles except the Trackhawk, and SRT trims, as those vehicles feature a performance-oriented engine instead. The Variable Valve Timing (VVT) and the Electric start-stop (ESS) technology works to optimize the performance, and it saves fuel economy. Under the hood, there will be the classic 3.6-Liter Pentastar V6 engine which generates a 295 horsepower and a 260 lb-ft of torque.

For those wanting additional power, there is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, and there’s an optional upgrade for all 4×4 drivetrains (except on the Summit trims). The Grand Cherokee SRT has a 6.4-Liter HEMI V8 which can generate a 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Summit trims carry a 6.2-Liter Supercharged V8, 707 hp engine and it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds.     

Keep in mind, there is also the Class-Exclusive PHEV powertrain on the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that adds unmitigated power. This powertrain and new Jeep choice includes both Best-in-Class torque and the lowest greenhouse gasses of any Grand Cherokee ever. The 2.0L Turbo engine and the electric motor provides maximum horsepower, instant torque and unmatched acceleration.

4×4 System

On the Grand Cherokee, Jeep offers several off-road 4×4 systems. There’s one that includes the Selec-Terrain System which is the Quadra-Trac I 4WD system, and there’s another one that is designed for all-weather capability. The Selec-Terrain is standard on the Laredo, Laredo E, and Altitude trims.

The trims, Trailhawk, Overland, Limited, Limited X, High Altitude and the Summit, all have a two-speed transfer case that notices and corrects the tire slippage. The Selec-Terrain Traction Control System allows drivers to choose their preferred driving modes in the mud, snow, and sand. Because of the low range capability, the Quadra-Trac II System is even better off-road.  

The Quadra-Trac II is only available on the Trailhawk, it makes it “Trail Rated Tough” thanks to its available electronic rear limited-slip differential for off-road traction and capability. The Quadra-Trac Active on Demand 4WD is the standard 4×4 system on the Trackhawk and SRT. This addition works as a full-time 4×4 system that readily adapts no matter the driving conditions without requiring any input from the driver.   

Exterior Features

The automatic on/off headlights come standard on the vehicle, as well as acoustic and tinted windshield which lessens the noise and glare while driving, the deep tint sunscreen glass keeps the vehicle fresh-looking, there is also heated outside mirrors, premium fog lamps, black claddings, and ParkSense rear park assist.

The LED fog lamps are already on the Summit and Altitude vehicles. The High-tier trims offer the HID headlamps, bi-xenon, a rain-sensitive windshield wiper, a roof rack, rock rails, platinum side roof rails, a power liftgate, and tow hooks. There’s a dual-pane panoramic sunroof as well that is optional.

Selected trims offer blacked-out decal as well as the “Trail Rated” badge on the Trailhawk. The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers up to ten different exterior colors to choose from. The wheels can range anywhere from 17-20 inches while the materials vary from polished aluminum, black satin, forged polish, and many others. New standard 18-inch polished and painted aluminum wheels.   

Interior Features

In the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there is a 60/40 split-fold rear seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, steering wheel-mounted audio controls that come standard on the vehicle as well as luxury floor mats. The trims that feature fabric upholstery is the Laredo and Laredo X trims; the remaining Grand Cherokee lineup. The other options included are the heated and ventilated front seats and the auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The features found on the Altitude going forward are active noise control and a heated steering wheel. There are more options that can be added to the package. The additions can include red seat belts, and a wood/leather-wrapped steering wheel on selected trims.   

Entertainment

The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a 10.1-inch touchscreen that exhibits the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system. There are the Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto infotainment, as well as integrated hands-free voice-command with Bluetooth. Standard is a six-speaker audio system while the high-tier Grand Cherokee trims include a new subwoofer with a 19-speaker amplified system.

Available McIntosh® features a 17-channel amplifier delivering up to 950 watts of power through 19 custom-designed speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer. which comes standard on the Summit and is offered as an upgrade on the Trackhawk, SRT, High Altitude, and Overland trims. Standard infotainment systems included on all trims is the upgraded 10-inch touchscreen display, completed with a Uconnect 5C which contains TomTom navigation. The navigation features live-traffic information and a one-year SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription and other add-ons include a rear-seat dual-screen Blue-ray/DVD player and a rear-seat video system. 

Safety Features and Warranty

The Grand Cherokee has more than 70 advanced safety features. There is multistage airbags, driver inflatable knee-bolster bag, rear airbags, supplemental seat-mounted airbags, supplemental side-curtain airbags and, new side-curtain front come standard. Other safety features available as upgrades include adaptive cruise control with stop, blind spot, and cross path detection, parallel and perpendicular park assist.

100,000-mile powertrain warranty and roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles whichever comes first.
