2016 Jeep Renegade

Kendall Keep Renegade

The 2016 Jeep Renegade is a compact SUV that is great for any occasion. Even the Jeep Renegadeā€™s base model has cutting-edge technology and a sleek exterior finish. The options for this model seem endless. From exterior to interior options, the Renegade can be customized for any driver.

The Renegade has a new look for the Jeep brand, however, it still encompasses the traditional Jeep grille design to keep the Jeep feel intact. Many people on Edmunds have given the Jeep Renegade a five-star rating. They say it is easy to handle, great in snow and all weather, and great extra features. Letā€™s take a look.

Engine and Trims

The Jeep Renegade is available on six different trims and there are two engine options. The Jeep Renegadeā€™s different trims include the Sport, Latitude, Limited, and then thereā€™s the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, which is specially built for adventure lovers.jeep_renegade

The Renegadeā€™s standard engine is a 160-horsepower 1.4-liter 4-cylinder MultiAir turbo engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission. There is also an available 180-horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark 4-cylinder engine coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Renegadeā€™s smaller 1.4-liter engine has a fuel economy of 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, which is excellent for an SUV. The slightly larger 2.4-liter engine has the same highway fuel economy and it averages about 22 mpg in the city.

Exterior

Letā€™s start with the basics. The Renegade maintains the usual rugged Jeep brand look but has a smaller and more city-friendly appeal. The 2016 Jeep has smarter technology than the 2015 model, and it has fantastic off-road capabilities. The vehicle is offered in nine different colors

Now here are some of the impressive extra exterior options available on the Renegade. The Mysky sunroof is a cool add-on for this model. The MySky sunroof is an open-air, dual-panel roof, which features panels that can be either retracted or removed completely from the top of the vehicle. The panels store flat in a height-adjustable rear cargo area when removed. The retractable roof is a huge hit with Jeep lovers.

Other exterior options include halogen fog lights, heated mirrors, tinted glass, and there are several wheels and tire combinations that buyers can choose.

Jeep Renegade Interior

Interior

Since the Jeep Renegade is a smaller Jeep, designers wanted to maximize the vehicleā€™s interior space. The Renegade accomplishes this with a height-adjustable rear cargo floor to optimize storage space. The interior and upholstery are available in three different leather colors or 4 different cloth color colors.

The interior also has several optional upgrades. These upgrades include a 6.5-inch UConnect screen with GPS and Satellite radio, a 9-speaker, 506-watt audio system that includes a 6.5-inch subwoofer, and 7-inch full-color driver information display mounted right near the speedometer behind the steering wheel.

Safety

With this car safety and fun can both be achieved. The 2016 Jeep Renegade has a 4-star overall safety rating and a five-star side crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NTSA).

Some important safety features include a rollover protection system, traction control, an emergency trunk release, a blind spot monitoring system, auto-leveling headlights, and a lane departure warning system.

Price and Warranty

The starting price for the Jeep Renegade begins at $17,995 and ranges to $26,495. All Jeep vehicles are backed by a 3-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
