Trims and Engines
The Ram 1500 is available in eight trims, three of which are special edition trims. The various Ram 1500 trims include the Tradesman, HFE, SLT, Sport, Laramie, Rebel, Yellow Stinger, and Big Horn, and a few more appearance packages.
There are three different available engines across the Ram 1500 lineup. The standard Ram 1500 engine is the award-winning 3.6-Liter V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The Ram 1500 4X2 models that are equipped with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine can tow up to 8,300 pounds. The engine is paired with an efficient 8-speed automatic transmission that helps to provide the Ram 1500 4X2 HFE model with a leading class fuel efficiency of 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
Power lovers might opt for the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with MDS / fuel saver technology. This HEMI engine produces up to 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque and has special engineering to help increase its fuel efficiency. The 5.7-liter engine can tow up to 8,650 pounds when equipped with the Ram 1500 Big Horn and 8,550 pounds when on the Ram 1500 Tradesman.
The basic features for the Ram 1500 interior are meant to give a more upscale look and feel to the truck. These features include plenty of legroom in the front and back, tons of storage space in the cab, a USB port, and a 6-speaker stereo system. The seats are leather with stitch trim and a wide choice of colors.
Some optional additions to the interior include an 8.4-inch touchscreen with UConnect access, a WiFi hotspot, and a voice-activated navigation system.
The safety rating on the 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 is an overall 4-star rating from the NHTSA. This vehicle comes equipped with airbags, stability control with a trailer anti-sway system, and hill-start assist. Some additional safety options include a rearview camera and front parking sensors.

Prices and Warranties
The price for the standard model starts at $26,145, but depending on which trim and options are chosen, the price can go up to over $32,000.
Warranties include a three year 36,000-mile basic, a 5-year, 60,000-mile warranty for gas engines, and a 5-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty on diesel engines.
