2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk
The Jeep Renegade is still a relatively new Jeep vehicle. The first year of production of the Renegade was just a couple years ago in 2015 and people are digging it. The CUV keeps the classic Jeep style with features like the seven-slot grille, but it is a smaller model that has a more squared design in comparison to other Jeep models. Don’t worry though, just because it is smaller, doesn’t make it any less capable, especially the Renegade Trailhawk.
The Jeep Renegade Trailhawk trim is loaded (standard) with off-road features and a unique off-road system. The Renegade Trailhawk also comes standard with upgraded tech and style features as well as a more powerful standard engine. Check out all the details below.
Engine and Performance
The engine that comes standard with the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk is the larger engine of the two engine options on the Renegade lineup. The engine is a 2.4-liter Tigershark inline-4 (I4) engine that is able to produce up to 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Even though the engine is larger, it doesn’t mean it is bad on fuel economy. In fact, the 21 MPG city and 29 MPG highway fuel economy of the Renegade Trailhawk is pretty impressive, especially for an off-road vehicle.
Of course, the Trail Rated CUV comes with plenty of features for off-roading. Some of the standard features include red tow hooks (two in the front and one in the rear), a one-inch lift, 8.7 inches of ground clearance, a rear axle disconnect, and skid plates all over the vehicle. The wheels and tires are also off-road ready! The 18-inch wheels are wrapped in larger all-terrain tires to make your off-road ride a breeze.
Like any good off-road vehicle, the Renegade Traianhawk comes with a off-road system to further increase off-road capability. The system is known as the Active Drive Low 4X4 system. This system is 4WD (duh) and is able to engage the rear disconnect axle when needed.
In addition, the system comes with a selec-terrain system which allows for different driving modes (auto, snow, mud, rock, or sand). Depending on the selected driving mode, the vehicle adjusts traction to the needed wheels. The system adds low-range capability to the vehicle as well as an impressive 20:1 crawl ratio.
As previously mentioned the Renegade Trailhawk comes with several upgraded features that aren’t on some of the other Renegade trims. Inside the Renegade Trailhawk features including premium cloth seats, illuminated entry, all-weather floor mats, heated front seats and a 60/40 split folding bench seat. Some standard exterior features include a black chrome grille with black accents, painted black wheels, and deep tinted windows.
Although the Renegade Trailhawk is already loaded with features, buyers still have optional upgrades. Some of the additional options for the Renegade Trailhawk include leather seats, fog lights, a MySky removable roof panel, heated mirrors and many more.
Just like with the exterior and interior features, the technology in the Renegade Trailhawk is upgraded from what you may find with lower level trim models.
