Engine Options
There are seven different configuration/trim options and two different engine options for the ProMaster Cargo Van. The trim options (in order from base to highest) include the 1500 Cargo Low Roof 118WB, 1500 Cargo Low Roof 136 WB, 1500 Cargo High Roof 136WB, 2500 Cargo High Roof 136WB, 2500 Cargo High Roof 159WB, 3500 Cargo High Roof 159WB, and the 3500 Cargo High Roof 159WB Ext.
When it comes to engines, the 3.6-liter V6 engine with VVT technology comes standard and there is also a 3.0-liter diesel I4 engine available. In addition, the van comes in front-wheel drive (FWD) which is an exclusive feature. The reason that FWD is great for the van is because it allows for more responsive handling when needed like on construction or other types of work sites. The van produces 174 or 280 horsepower and 260 or 295 lb-ft of torque depending on the engine.
The cargo van is less about style and more about functionality and convenience. Therefore, there are plenty of features both on the outside and inside that make the Ram ProMaster optimal for work situations. Features like 16-inch steel wheels, all-season tires, 260-degree opening rear hinged doors, and a sliding passenger door are all standard.
Interior
Stepping inside the vehicle, you will find many great standard features like cloth bucket seats, four-way adjustable passenger and driver seats, a cargo lamp, and plenty of cargo space (up to 463 cubic feet). Additional features like heated seats, six-way adjustable seats, vinyl bucket seats, and more are available upgrades.
Upfits
When it comes to the cargo van, a huge advantage is the different upfit options. The ProMaster Cargo Van comes with three different upfit options, all of which are helpful in different industries. The three options include a Trades Interior upfit, Mobile Office upfit, and Delivery Interior upfit options.
The Trades Interior upfit provides features including 90-degree vertical sidewalls and three available wheelbase options to allow for the best cargo capacity, adjustable shelving units, and vehicle shape needed for your vehicle. The Trades Interior upfit is beneficial for professions like painter, plumbing, and those in construction. The Mobile Office upfit has features such as space, power, and capability. This upfit is generally useful for medical and police services. Finally, the Delivery upfit has features including easy access and a lower height for easier loading and impressive upgraded performance and capability features to make driving all day easier. Flower delivery and caterers can benefit from this upfit.
Price and Warranty
This van is affordable, especially considering the competition. The base level trim starts at only $29,995.
Warranties included with the van are a three year or 36,000 mile basic warranty and a five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty on gas engines and a 100,000-mile or five-year powertrain warranty on diesel engines. Additionally, Ram offers complimentary roadside assistance for five years or 100,000 miles.
