The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a one-of-a-kind minivan and it is considered one of the highest ranked minivans by The Car Connection and many other automotive review sources. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) minivan that shares many similarities with the Chrysler Pacifica, but thanks to its unique and class-exclusive powertrain, it offers some exceptional benefits as well.
Combined City/Highway MPGe
For the 2018 model year, a new trim was added to the Pacifica Hybrid lineup and it is the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring Plus. Of the three available Pacifica Hybrid trims, the new Pacifica Hybrid Touring Plus is the most affordable, but it’s powered by the same fuel efficient powertrain the other Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid models have.
All three Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid trims come equipped with a modified version of the 3.6-liter V6 engine that is in the Chrysler Pacifica, however, the engine is also combined with dual electric motors and 16 kWh lithium-iron battery. The 3.6-liter engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and the engine produces 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. When the vehicle has a fully charged battery and full tank of gas the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has a total driving distance of 566 miles.
Like other PHEVs, drivers of the Pacifica Hybrid are given the option to drive in three different modes. Electric mode uses solely battery power and when the battery is fully charged the Pacifica Hybrid can travel up to 33 miles on pure electricity. Hybrid mode is when the vehicle is being powered by a combination of battery and engine. When in Hybrid mode, the Pacifica Hybrid has a combined city/highway fuel economy of 84 MPGe (mile per gallon equivalent). The third available driving mode is when the vehicle is only powered by the 3.6L engine and in this mode the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has an average city/highway fuel economy of 32 mpg, which is unheard of in the minivan class.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has an average charging rate of about 6.6 kWh and with a 240-volt outlet the Pacifica Hybrid’s battery can be full recharged in about two hours. When using a 120-volt outlet it takes about 12 hours to fully recharged the battery. Owners that want to save time on charging at their house can get a 240-volt outlet installed by a professional.
Whether taking a long road trip or running a simple errand, the interior cabin of the Pacifica Hybrid is refreshing. The Pacifica Hybrid base trim has seating for up to seven passengers and with the cabin’s exceptional head and hip room, everyone can sit comfortably. The third-row seats can also be folded down to create a 60/40 bench while offering some additional cargo space. Standard features on the Pacifica Hybrid Limited include Premium Nappa Leather-Trimmed Bucket seats, power passenger lumbar adjust and Power 8-way passenger seating.
Standard features on the Chrysler Pacifica Touring Plus include 17-inch aluminum wheels, all season tires, and 4-wheel disc regenerative brakes. Automatic headlights, LED taillights, keyless entry and ignition are other great exterior features. For some added convenience features, the Pacifica Hybrid Limited comes standard with Chrome/body color power mirrors and laminated front door glass and buyers have the option to add front and rear splash guards or front splash guards.
Built to be the perfect vehicle for busy individuals, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid comes standard with awesome entertainment equipment. Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen display that includes voice command with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto capabilities, auxiliary data input, a complimentary 1-year subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio, and steering wheel mounted audio controls. Additionally, for those buyers looking for an upgrade, the Pacifica Hybrid Limited comes standard equipped with 20 Harman Kardon speakers and Harman Kardon sound group, 5 year SiriusXM Traffic and Traffic Link Service, Active Noise Control System and Blu-ray/DVD players.
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid offers exceptional safety features and most come standard on all three trims. For starters, Advanced Multistage Front Airbags, LATCH ready child seat anchor system, Occupant Classification System, ParkView Backup Camera, Pedestrian Warning System, and supplemental Front Seat-Mounted and Side curtain Airbags through the entire Pacifica Hybrid interior cabin.
