2019 Chrysler Pacifica: The Best Gets Better
How much better can the Chrysler Pacifica become? Much better as Chrysler has found a way, this time in the third incarnation of the Chrysler Pacifica, to enhance this already stellar minivan. The first minivan to ever offer a hybrid version, Chrysler has continued to lead the way of innovation in the 2019 Pacifica. Still as spacious as before with handling that drives less like a minivan and more like a sports car, but keeps its phenomenal fuel efficiency. The non-hybrid Pacifica rendition gains a 28 highway mpg rating from the EPA and holds as a superior gas saving minivan with its stop/start features. The non-hybrid offers even better gas mileage than the latest Toyota Sienna.
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica was listed as a five-star rated vehicle in terms of safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Cars.com as the “Best Family Vehicle” for the second year-in-a-row. This years Pacifica will hope to keep the streak going for both awards. Let’s see how that will be possible with this expansive minivan that only seems to get better and better.
What Is New for the 2019?
There are two new exterior paint colors available, listed as “Luxury White” and “Maximum Steel” and they will be made available not long after the debut. There are no changes to the powertrain expected, but the Pacifica will now have six trims, including the L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus and Limited, and includes the nine speed automatic transmission. The Pacifica Hybrid will have three trims of its own including the Touring Plus, Touring L, and Limited. For those who want to black out the trim, an “S” package includes a sleek look with the sharp black cosmetic appearance. This package is expected to cost $595, but the actual price is yet to be determined.
Immediate areas of improvement can be found in the interior, starting with the increased 20 Harman Kardon speaker sound system, returning power liftgate with hands-free control, a beautiful panoramic sunroof and cooled front seats found in the Limited trim. This top-tier trim also includes HD radio, power sliding doors, GPS navigation, a twin 10.1-inch touchscreen, third-row USB port and power third-row seats that return with the stow ‘n vac vacuum with a long hose to take care of cleaning your back seats and cabin easily. Some of the top safety features available in the 2019 Pacifica are the surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warnings that includes automatic emergency braking.
2019 Pacifica Hybrid, Even More Features
The Hybrid models are packed with standard features! The Hybrid Touring Plus offers a standard auto-dim rearview mirror. The Hybrid Touring L has standard heated steering wheel and auto-dim rearview mirror and the Premium Audio Group option. The highest trim, the Limited, has memory seats/mirrors/audio, power-folding mirrors and Auto Advance n’ Return on both the drivers and passengers side, all standard. A sporty S Appearance Package will also be available on the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The S Appearance Package gives customers Light Diesel Gray accents and black upholstery throughout the cabin, standard 18-inch wheels and a black roof rack on the exterior. Even the Pacifica, “S” and “eHybrid” badge on the rear carry the black hue.
“The factory custom look of the S Appearance model is really resonating with our Pacifica buyers, so much so that we are now making it available on the Pacifica Hybrid model, as well. With 84 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in electric-only mode and 33 miles of all-electric range, this package makes the industry’s only hybrid minivan even more unique,” said Head of Passenger Car Brands at FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) Steve Beahm.
One of the coolest things about the Chrysler Pacifica that every owner is sure to embrace is the additional features a driver can request. Some of those depend on lifestyle choices, but they include a first-aid kit, a pet kennel and a wireless smartphone charger. Not to mention, this minivan can pull some serious weight. The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica has a maximum towing capacity of 3,600 pounds, which isn’t bad at all.
