The new Dodge Charger generation will arrive later this year and combine the fortune of both gasoline and electric vehicle offerings. However, within either option Dodge is Offering only two trims, the “Scat Pack” fitted with a 670 horsepower powertrain that secures a blazing fast 3.3 second 0-60 mph time. The R/T trim options comes with 496 horsepower and tons of power for any driver to feel secure. That’s a given for drivers, as anything over 200 is immense, let alone 496 horsepower!

More On the Inside of the Electric Charger

Dodge notes the Charger will employ front and rear “electric drive modules,” or motors, with the rear motor gaining a mechanical slip differential for superior traction. Fitted is a 400-volt architecture and a 100.5 kWh battery pack, set for estimated ranges of 317 miles for the R/T and 260 miles for the higher-performance Charger Daytona Scat Pack.

Dodge adding gas-powered engines is confirmed, but not what the brand had mentioned for quite a long span before that, now changing their mind to go with the option of both. Dodge mixed the Charger with both including “multi-energy powertrain options with the 550-horsepower Charger Sixpack HO model”, powered by a 3.0-LifTwin Turbo Hurricane “high output” six-cylinder engine, and the 420-horsepower Dodge Charger Sixpack SO model, using a detuned version of that engine. This mod is dubbed the Twin Turbo Hurricane “standard output” engine. The Hurricane engines are Stellantis’ new inline six-cylinder engines that work with twin turbos for enhanced strength. The Scat Pack is ready to be the ultimate Dodge performance car until the SRT Banshee is added to the lineup in 2025. By spring 2025, Dodge will also be close to having the Charger Sixpacks: Two- and four-door Chargers built on same platforms and bodies as the EVs but with gas powertrains instead. Production should have everything set for the 2025 class to contend with anything going on in the previous two decades of Dodge engineering.

Dodge Readies Their Fleet

By 2026, Dodge is ready to make a new push within its technology, soon to be available with a single rear motor with 335 horsepower and 314-lb-ft of torque. The all-new Daytona will debut for now providing the option of a second motor, as well as a 100.5-kW lithium-ion battery with nickel, cobalt and aluminum chemistry and peak discharge rate of 550 kW at a time when 320 kW is a solid Measure.

Dodge’s parent Stellantis is in the beginning stages of its Dare Forward 2030 transformation plan, which aims for 50% EV sales in the US by 2030. CEO Carlos Tavares has been more reseved than other CEOs when setting up the Stellantis’ EV resources as Stellantis is reevaluating its EV spending in 2027 ahead of reallocating further capital.
