While every American has seen a classic Dodge Challenger or Charger at the local fair, car show or just cruising around on the the beach, there’s a few other classic Dodge classic cars that were also popular around the same time, but aren’t discussed nearly as much today.

The following three cars are Dodge cars to remember and there’s still some well-preserved classics rolling around on the street. Who knows, you may have seen one on the street or in a show, but didn’t know what it was!

Dodge Dart 1960-1976

The original Dodge Dart was built from 1960-1976 and it was a popular family car in the ‘60s and ‘70s. Production on the Dart was in hiatus for 37 years until Dodge brought it back in 2013. The current Dart model has a completely new style and look and has grown from a 2-door to a 4-door sedan.

Dodge Polara: 1959 – 1973

The Dodge Polara was available in a range of body styles and sizes including a 2-door, 4-door and a convertible soft- or hard-top.

Fun fact: The name “Polara” was inspired by the Polaris Star and its name was a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race during the early 1960s.

Dodge Aspen: 1975-1980

The Dodge Aspen was produced for only five years and it was intended to be the sister car of the famous Plymouth. The Aspen was available in three different models and three different engine choices. Production of the Aspen ended when production of all F-Body platform cars stopped being produced in 1980. Then 17 years later, the Aspen returned to the market as an SUV, but also had a short lifespan and its production ended in 2009.
