The new 2023 Ram 1500 pickup offers a turbodiesel 3.0-Liter V6 with 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. A powerhouse that rated at up to 33 mpg a a remarkable feature. That rating comes with the HFE trim with rear-wheel drive. We’ve noticed a few other tweaks to improve aerodynamics to help hit this impressive mpg, which is higher than many large cars on the road today. Without the package, it’s rated at 32 mpg with rear-wheel drive and 29 mpg with four-wheel drive. Ram has the more high-end, lush interiors versus the competition and now will provide another route many brands simply do not.
The diesel engine costs $4,995 extra and is still available for ordering in the Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trim options. This is not to be confused with the all-new 2023 Ram Built to Serve special editions. These are our prized Ram offerings for 2023 and we can’t keep them forever!
