Dodge has worked hard to improve their line-up, not just their ever-popular muscle cars, but their strong SUVs like the Dodge Durango, as well. There are many people that love to have a fast ride but need the space of an SUV for many reasons. For those that want to have the best of both worlds, the 2019 Dodge Durango is the perfect vehicle to gain that impressive speed with space and power to command the road while being able to hold three rows and up to seven passengers and cargo space.

Just how fast is the latest carnation of the Dodge Durango? Try a 4.4 speed from 0-60 while having the strength to tow up to 8,200 pounds in the top-tier SRT model. But, what about the rest of the trims? Let’s look over some of the new options added to the 2019 Dodge Durango line-up.

Powertrain + New Interior Options

Looking over the various trims for the 2019 Dodge Durango, many will embrace the base model SXT trim that begins at $29,995 MSRP (plus destination fee) and equips a 290 horsepower Pentastar V6 powertrain, which can go from 0-60 in just over seven seconds; impressive! The SXT now offers leather seats as an option. Owners can opt for the stronger 360 horsepower V8 or the 475 horsepower V8 HEMI in the highest trim, the SRT. Dodge offers the 2019 Durango in six trims: SXT Plus, GT, GT Plus, Citadel, R/T and SRT.

The SXT and GT trims have a standard 7-inch touchscreen, while the higher trims have an 8-inch touchscreen. The Citadel and R/T trims have the available 825-watt Harman/Kardon stereo system and gain stand second-row captain’s chairs as a standard feature for the Citadel trim. There have been some additions to the trim line-up including a new GT Plus trim which adds amenities to the standard GT trim. Heated front and second-row seats along with a heated steering wheel can be found in the GT Plus. The R/T trim includes performance steering and sport suspension.

The SRT, the highest trim, brings all the goodies. Best-in-class towing of 8,700 pounds pairs with Brembo six-piston high-performance brakes and 20×10-inch Goliath wheels with Black Noise finish, active noise cancellation system and begins at $62,995 MSRP (plus destination fee). All Durangos can include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts, as well as the Trailer Tow package that brings an integrated trailer brake.

Continued Durango Popularity

The Dodge Durango has had an increase in sales every year since 2012 and 2019 looks to continue this pattern of growth. Thanks to a new car-style unibody that was first used in 2011, the popular three-row SUV has enjoyed rear-wheel-drive and solid vehicle dynamics that allow the vehicle to drive fast and provide a comfortable ride. With a quiet cabin, even at highway speeds, the Dodge Durango has never been better. The new 2019 Durango is ready for customers today at Kendall Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram.
