When looking for a vehicle for your family, there are several things to keep in mind and safety and convenience are probably at the top of your list. One brand that has perfected their family vehicles through the years is Dodge.

Currently, Dodge has three different models that have seating for seven people, the Journey, the Durango and the Grand Caravan. Although they all have a unique build and style, they all have a great list of safety and convenience features. Check ‘em out.

Dodge Journey

The smallest of Dodge’s three seven-passenger vehicles is the Dodge Journey, which is a midsize crossover. The Journey is a versatile choice for consumers because it is available as a five or seven passenger vehicle and the seating can be easily configured for cargo. For maximum cargo capacity, users can fold the the Journey’s seats down to open up 67.6 cubic feet of flat space and there are also extremely convenient built-in floor storage bins that double as built-in coolers.

The Journey is available with two engine options. The base engine is 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, but buyers can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6 engine which comes standard on the Journey GT. Depending on the engine, the Journey produces 173 or 283 horsepower and 166 or 260 lb-ft of torque.

Dodge Durango

In comparison to the Journey, the Dodge Durango is a larger midsize SUV, so it is a great option for families that need extra space for cargo. For three years in a row, the Durango has been named “Most Loved” in the midsize SUV segment by Strategic Vision.

New for the 2017 model year, the Durango comes standard as a two row five passenger vehicle, but consumers still have the option of a three row seven passenger vehicle as well. The Durango offers users 84.5 cubic feet of cargo volume and it is loaded with convenience features.

Almost all of the Durango trims come standard with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, but the powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine is standard on the Durango R/T. Depending on the engine, the Durango produces 293 or 360 horsepower and 260 or 390 lb-ft of torque. If you are looking for enough space for a family of five or more, but also have the horsepower for the parents to enjoy, the Durango is your best bet!

Dodge Grand Caravan

If you are in need of a vehicle that has plenty of space for seven people, but need a cabin that can quickly be transformed into a vehicle to transport big items, the Grand Caravan is probably for you. The Grand Caravan is a minivan and it has tons of space due to the Stow ‘n Go seating system.

The Stow ‘n Go seating system makes it possible for users to fold the second- and third-row seats into the built-in floor storage compartments. The Stow ‘n Go seating is extremely easy to use and folding the seats down only takes a matter of seconds. With the Stow ‘n Go seats stored in the floor, the Grand Caravan allows for up to 143.8 cubic feet of flat space. When the floor storage compartments are being used for the seats, the large compartments can be conveniently used as storage for other items.

Don’t worry, just because this is a minivan, doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful! The Grand Caravan has 3.6-liter V6 engine under the hood and it produces up to 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Not to mention, the minivan is surprisingly fuel efficient for it’s size getting an EPA estimated 17 city and 25 highway mpg.
