How Much of the Dodge SRT Demon Makes Up the Hellcat Redeye?

Ever wondered what a Challenger SRT Hellcat would look like with the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon parts? Exactly like the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. There’s no denying the speed and high-performance crafted by Dodge in their SRT vehicles, but the proof is apparent with several internal parts used in the Dodge Demon joining the Hellcat Redeye. For starters, they are quite close when it comes to horsepower output, as the Hellcat Redeye amounts to 797 horsepower and the Dodge Demon gets 808 (up to 840 when using high octane fuel). That kind of engine strength can only be possible with the help of the exact same supercharged engine, transmission and driveline bits that are found inside the 2018 Dodge SRT Demon. So what else of the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is part SRT Demon?
Part Demon, All Redeye
A new twin-snorkel design placed into the supercharged 2019 Challengers helps increase the power by ten horsepower, but this hood design is different from the Dodge Demon. Overall, the Dodge SRT Demon was built with unique parts that aimed at making it faster and stronger for specifically the quarter-mile. The Demon carries a Drag Mode suspension setting to allow the weight to be pushed to the rear tires at launch. That weight shift is what helped make the Dodge SRT Demon hit it’s mind-blowing 9.65 second quarter-mile time at 140 mph. With that wicked speed, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon recorded the world’s fastest production car quarter-mile according to the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).
Not to worry, the all-new 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is capable of holding its own with a fire starter quarter-mile time of its own. Just 10.8 seconds for a quarter-mile? Yep, it’s possible when driving a vehicle that hits a lighting quick 131 mph. That’s what makes the SRT Hellcat Redeye stand out.
“(In) ’19 we’re going to do a Redeye. It’s a Hellcat that’s been possessed by a Demon. We’ve got a Hellcat body, basically suspension and platform, and then we’ve got the Demon engine. It’s a little bit different calibration than the Demon engine, ” said Steve Beahm, head of Passenger Car Brands-Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat for FCA North America.
More On the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
The Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye has a new grille that has two noticeable air intakes that funnel cool air directly into the 6.2-Liter supercharged engine. Another Dodge SRT Demon part, the industry’s first After-Run Chiller, makes its way to help the Hellcat Redeye be more effective at keeping the engine cool and running smoothly. This allows for more air to be introduced into the combustion chamber and provide an increase of horsepower. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye also was bestowed the Demon’s Torque Reserve, which helps get the engine pumped by closing its bypass valve and intentionally misfiring the engine. Line lock was an addition that will allow the Hellcat to do a burnout by locking the front brakes, a feature that is included in the SRT Demon.
There’s so much of the SRT Demon in this vehicle, the Redeye really could be mistaken for the same hellish vehicle, especially with the Widebody package. The 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody begins at $65,690 MSRP (plus destination fee.) A price far less than the $88,000 starting price the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon held. Giddy up!
