Jeep Brand Teases Wagoneer and Gains More Followers

Jeepers, the term used to describe Jeep brand fanatics, will have a new vehicle to embrace. The Jeep lineup will gain the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, a luxurious three-row SUV that will sit atop the Jeep vehicle hierarchy. Not only will Jeep bring back the Grand Wagoneer, they will also introduce a new, slightly lower-tier Jeep Wagoneer three-row SUV. This new entry will be similar to the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Cherokee models. Stellantis (Formerly FCA) revealed a teaser image (seen above) on the Jeep twitter account. 

How Else Is Jeep Promoting the Wagoneer?

Jeep wants to have more eyes on its brand. This past week has introduced a wave of vintage photos shown by the brand, as well as hints at the future. Another image of an old-school Jeep Wagoneer with its classic wood-grain appearance was also tweeted with a hashtag labeled #WagoneerWednesday. A few days before, Jeep tweeted an image of the Grand Canyon with a definition of the word, “Grand,” as “magnificent and striking in appearance, size or style.” Jeep will be ready to launch these vehicles and have the public know about these vehicles’ way in advance. The intent is to keep Jeepers guessing, but gain more eyes than just the usual fans of the brand to take notice.

The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer Will Save the Day

 The new SUVs will help grow the brand, which suffered a loss of $1.24 billion in the second quarter compared to the same time period last year in 2019; no thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the second half of this year and 2021 will undoubtedly boast better results. 

The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be built at the Warren Truck Assembly when it reopens in September. The plant located in Michigan will be the new home for these new Wagoneer vehicles, continuing the tradition first started back in 192 through 1911 when the luxurious Grand Wagoneer vehicle saw its first run cease. 

Jeep Brand Will Also Push Forward With EV Models

There might be elements of electrification or a plug-in hybrid version that will debut not long after the Jeep Wagoneer does. Global Jeep President Christian Meunier said he expects the Jeep lineup to offer “The greenest SUV brand in the world”. As many as 10 PHEVs are rumored to be built by 2025. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is pushing to transform all its brands, including Jeep, to allow more options for buyers and the Wagoneer should eventually have its day as one of the most sophisticated luxury vehicles with an EV component.
