Impressive Third-Quarter Results For FCA

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has earned impressive sales numbers as the results for the  Jeep® brand’s third-quarter success was named earlier this week. Starting off October with the Jeep Wrangler JL hitting a new quarterly record is remarkable considering the Wrangler has had to fend off the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup taking away potential buyers. Both the 2019 and 2020 Jeep Wrangler attracted customers and maintained its dominance in the midsize-SUV segment. Just how well did Jeep do this quarter?

Impressive Third-Quarter Results For FCA

The overall sales for FCA totaled 565,034 vehicles for the three-month period that ran from July through September. Jeep vehicles make a large sum of the vehicles sold, particularly this quarter. Overall FCA retail sales accounted for 438,649 vehicles, while fleet totaled for 22 percent of total sales. Fleet sales, on a year-to-date basis, earned a quarter of overall business for FCA. FCA has noted customer trends that have allowed for the success of these sales. The strong market place has encouraged many buyers to opt for the higher trims and newest vehicles offered by FCA.

“Lower interest rates, a stable economy, and consumer enthusiasm bolster our belief that new vehicle sales in the U.S. are heading for a strong finish. For us, vehicles like the new Gladiator, are pulling customers into showrooms,” Head of U.S. Sales Reid Bigland said.

Closer Look At Jeep’s Success

With exactly 245,474 Jeep vehicles moved in the third quarter, Jeep amassed more than half of the total sales figure for FCA. The ever-popular Grand Cherokee moved 61,768 total units, an increase of 8% compared to its third quarter numbers last year. The Jeep Wrangler held an impressive 59,036 units sold and setting a quarterly record with its 3% increase over last year. The Jeep Cherokee finished third among Jeep sales with 52,138 vehicles sold.

Rounding out the rest of Jeep vehicles moved in the third-quarter include the Jeep Compass with a solid 35,158 units sold. The Jeep Renegade saw a decline from last year with 21,234 units sold. The newly introduced 2020 Jeep Gladiator ended up selling 16,132 vehicles. Lastly, a discontinue Jeep vehicle, the 2017 Jeep Patriot still sold 8 vehicles, the few left remaining on some dealership lots. That’s a whole lot of Jeep vehicles that received attention and demand in just the past three months alone. For those who want to drive away with a Jeep vehicle built for adventure, we know the best place to find them.
