The world fell in love with the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. So much so, the Dodge muscle segment has been looking to build a vehicle that could match up to it. Then Dodge made the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, made up of Demon parts. But, however, the Charger was neglected until now. Dodge has made the best Charger ever with many of the same Demon parts, creating the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye has an upgraded engine that has 25 major component upgrades. Included in the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is a larger supercharger, strengthened connecting rods and pistons, high-speed valve train, fuel injection system, and enhanced lubrication system.

Breaking Down the Differences Between the Hellcat and Redeye

Why would an owner opt for the SRT Hellcat Redeye? Does 797 horsepower sound attractive? That amount of strength is rare for any Dodge vehicle, let alone any production vehicle. The differences between the standard Charger SRT Hellcat engine and radical Redeye features the largest factory supercharger of any production car on the road. The engine size of 2.7-Liters versus 2.4-Liters with an increased boost pressure of 14.5 psi versus 11.6 psi. Dodge included a higher rpm limit of 6,500 rpm over 6,200 rpm. Additional features include two dual-stage fuel pumps instead of one. Despite the increase of performance, at full-throttle, the Charger maintains the same mpg. This means drivers of the Charger will be able to enjoy the added perks without losing on any gas milage.

Greater Performance With Demon Parts

Looking into the new parts from the SRT Demon was added, the larger induction air box with three sources of greater air intake. The newly designed performance hood, a mail-slot grille opening, as well as an airbox opening near the wheel liner all help with its air intake. Further features from the Challenger SRT Demon that help the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye achieve its status as the most powerful four-door muscle car include its Torque Reserve gives up to 3.9 psi of boost at launch and up to 55 percent more engine torque. There is only one factory production sedan with both the SRT Power Chiller and After-Run Chiller. This will allow the Charger to cool down after any drag races faster. High-strength steel prop shafts provide a 15 percent increase in torque capacity, making the Charger move in an even more fierce manner.

“The magic of the Dodge Charger is that it delivers all the performance of a true American muscle car while also being able to deliver a family of four or five, day in and day out. The Charger is a big, comfortable, five-passenger sedan that can run the quarter-mile in the mid-10s, 0-60 in the mid 3s and reach a top speed of 203 mph, and be your daily driver,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America.
