Mopar, the company behind all the parts manufactured for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), is helping craft new parts for the new 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Each year, Mopar aims at doing a better job than they did the year before for the Jeep brand. This update for the popular Jeep pickup truck includes a new trailer brake controller that can be added to all 2020 Jeep Gladiator trucks and will be included in the new 2021 Gladiator. With over 500 parts that are made and designed for Jeep vehicles, Mopar has crafted this new tool to help owners who use their trucks to haul items with better technology to aid in the process. Keep in mind, there’s so much to look forward to for the 2021 Jeep Gladiator

The Trailer Brake Controller Explained

As with all trucks that are hitching any objects, the load requirements are an important factor. The good news for Jeep owners of the Gladiator is the accuracy and ease the new trailer hitch guide will be for the new update offered by Mopar. The center console will have a factory-equipped fit and finish for customers to enjoy. The mounts of the trailer brake controller are placed in the lower portion of the infotainment system. The unit can be ordered at the time of purchase or installed at a dealership. Gladiator owners can check in to Jeep dealerships to add the controller. The cost is just $299 and it includes a wiring harness to the 7-pin connector in the bumper that comes with the trailer tow package.

How the Trailer Brake System Works

Keep in mind that the controller uses a knob to adjust the brake pressure gain and owners can properly balance the braking force of any trailer or load attached. The system works automatically with the function of the brake pedal. The higher numeric setting adds stronger brake force, but just like the Jeep Gladiator pickups own brakes, the system applies the electronic trailer brakes progressively. This makes the braking easier and helps to remove the load off the braking system of the Gladiator. Before Mopar created this part, Jeep Gladiator would have to find an aftermarket part to fully use the electric trailer brakes, now they don’t have to.

“At Mopar, we continue to expand our comprehensive Jeep portfolio, which includes more than 500 factory-backed, quality-tested parts, and accessories. Our new Trailer Brake Controller improves Jeep Gladiator’s braking efficiency and maximizes safety when towing” said Mark Bosanac, Chief of Mopar Service, Parts, and Customer Care
