Ram Moves From ProMaster Cargo Van After 2023

2023 Ram ProMaster Kendall

Ram has given the green light to innovation and removed the plans to continue the Ram ProMaster minivan as a future option. The goal of the brand is to extend into new areas of production that will benefit both the customers and the overall growth of the Ram brand. The cargo van was simply not a hot item and the industry as a whole is moving on from such rides being offered. Even rival brand Ford has revealed they will phase out the Transit Connect from the United States, according to Automotive News. The compact van is also being removed from the Mercedes-Benz lineup as well. The Ram brand has no other compact van in the segment as the focus will stay on building the greatest pickups in the industry that last for decades of use. Amazon is going to still use these new Ram vehicles to power their cargo fleet.

More Time For A Truck Segment Focus

The next phase of this journey will look a lot like the last few years. Back in 2018, the Ram brand launched its all-new generation of pickups, currently we are about to hit that same point again in what to expect with the pickup brand gaining new entries. Ram has focused on the customer to provide better infotainment setups, more luxury and greater access to get inside and feel comfortable inside. We’re happy to report the biggest difference for the Ram brand will be the large grouping of EV technology afforded to the new Ram 1500 EV. With the EV push by Stellantis, the parent company of Ram, we are getting ready for a new bold experience that will outlast the competition. Stellantis is focused on getting on producing low emission vehicles, including 30 billion dollars through 2025 towards moving towards an EV collection for customers.

Ram Brand Moving Ahead

The Ram brand is moving on the compact cargo van after seven years of trying to build up the vehicle here in the United States. At the end of the year, the Ram ProMaster will no longer be shipped from Mexico to this country. Europe will gain access to the Ram ProMaster for an unknown time going forward. Ford was expected to shift production of the Transit Connect from Spain to Mexico, but those plans were nixed. Ford will reportedly stop offering the Transit Connect in the US by the end of 2023, but the automaker declined to comment on these rumors, saying it does not discuss speculation. A Ram spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
