History of RAM Trucks
Dodge has been making trucks since 1917. However, it wasn’t until 1981 that Dodge, urged by Chrysler President and CEO, Lee Iacocca, decided to reinstate the ram mascot, originally featured as a hood ornament in 1933.
The return of the rugged, powerful beast marked the birth of four generations of Ram-badged trucks.
The first generation ran from 1981-1993; the second from 1994-2001; the third from 2002-2008; bringing us to the current generation, which began in 2009 and is still going stronger than ever, featuring cutting-edge technology, fearsome power, and rock-solid reliability.
Backed not only by a solid history loaded with innovation, Dodge Ram trucks are popular and proven.
No matter what you’re looking for, Dodge Ram Trucks will deliver.

Brag Book
Motor Trend automotive magazine determined that the Ram 1500 was the winner of the 2015 half-ton truck shootout.
But even before that, Motor Trend had named Ram trucks “Truck of the Year” five times; in 1994, the award went to the second-generation Ram, in 2003 to the third generation, in 2010, to the fourth-generation Ram Heavy Duty and in 2013 and 2014, the award went to the Ram 1500.
For the second consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Ram the “Best Full Size Truck for the Money.”
For the fourth time, Four Wheeler chose the Ram 2500 as its “Pickup Truck of the Year,” the fourth time since it’s release in 2005 that this truck series has boasted this distinction.
Whether we’re talking performance or affordability, Ram manufactures trucks that are tried and true.
Get Strength and Off-road Prowess with the 2500 Power Wagon and 1500 Rebel
Hitch Your Wagon to This Star
First introduced in 2005, the 2015 Ram 2500 Power Wagon sports a redesign allowing it greater stability, handling, and well…power for serious off-road excursions.
Updates include locking front and rear front differentials, providing better traction no matter how slick or slippery the driving surface.
Equipped with 32-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires, the wagon’s ground clearance extends to an impressive 14.5 inches to avoid bottoming out over rugged terrain. The approach and departure angles, in other words the maximum angles of an object able to clear the front and back bumpers are 34 degrees up front and 23.5 degrees in the back.
But, those of us who’ve gone off-roading or “mudding” as we call it down south, know all too-well that bottoming out is basically unavoidable. With that in mind, Dodge added loads of strategically placed skid plates to protect precious mechanisms and keep you and the truck intact.
You won’t be shocked to discover that this beast of a wagon roars with power from a 6.4-L Hemi V8 engine, backed by 410 horsepower with 429 lb.-ft. of torque, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The truck comes standard with four-wheel drive and boasts 11,200 pounds maximum towing and 1,903 pound payload.
Designed for powerful off-road fun, this truck does feature improved safety features, including standard dual front, front side, and full-length side curtain airbags.
Only available as a four-door crew cab with six-foot, four-inch bed, this truck comes in three distinct trim levels: Power Wagon Tradesman, Power Wagon, and the ultra-luxe Power Wagon Laramie.
An unexpected twist comes in the form of the Multiple-Displacement System (MDS), which is designed to shut down four of the eight cylinders under lighter load conditions in order to conserve fuel.
Leave it to Dodge Ram to develop a truck with this much power, and fuel-efficiency to boot.
Are you ready to take a spin off the beaten path?
With a Rebel Yell…
More, more, more off-road excitement comes in the form of the 2015 Dodge 1500 Rebel, the latest to join the 1500 full-size pickup line.
Equipped with hardware specifically designed for off-road adventures, this truck features special suspension modifications.
The crew-cab body style features a 5 ft., 7-inch bed and comes equipped with a 3.6-L V6 engine with 306 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 8-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel drive, and 3.92 rear-axle ratio, give the Rebel the powerful support it needs to tackle uncharted, off road terrain.
There are available options, including: installation of a Hemi 5.7-L V8 engine, boasting 395 horsepower with 410 lb.-ft. of torque, and choice of four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, with two rear axle ratios: 3.92 or 3.21.
With an increased ride height of one additional inch, thanks to the standard four-corner air suspension, each wheel includes Bilstein monotube dampers, brand new 17-inch alloy wheel design, sporting 33-inch Toyo “open country” tires, made special for the Ram 1500 Rebel.
Not surprising for a truck called “Rebel,” the exterior showcases some unusual features. The first is the obvious absence of the traditional crosshair grille. The second might remind you of a super sports car. Mounted on the hood are decoration only, nonfunctional “twin-snorkel” sport intakes.
Even flashier is the interior, made to match the heart stopping exterior.
Inside the Rebel everything is black and red, the only available color scheme. The seats are vinyl. Plush, comfy, and patterned with the Toyo-tire “open country” tread marks. The designers were really thinking form and function when they included all-weather mats as a standard feature.
Harness your rebellious spirit and go take that “road less traveled by.” Behind the wheel of the Rebel, you won’t just take it. You’ll conquer it.
You can find both of these Ram trucks at your local Dodge RAM dealer in Miami.
The EcoDiesel is the Best of Both Worlds: Powerful, Yet Efficient
Just when it seemed Ram couldn’t get any more innovative, it released the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, the only light-duty diesel in the entire automotive industry. Another first for Ram!
Starting at MSRP $31,140, the EcoDiesel features outstanding torque, reduced emissions, and an absolutely unbeatable fuel economy of 29 mpg on the highway, 21 mpg in the city, and 24 mpg combined. This edges out the competition considerably when compared to any full-size pickup truck on the market.
The EcoDiesel comes in eight trim options and is equipped with a 3.0-L EcoDiesel V6 engine, featuring 240 horsepower with 420 lb-ft. of torque, and an eight-speed automatic transmission, powered by clean diesel technology, and able to run on B20 biodiesel with a maximum towing capacity of 10,450 pounds.
This is a smooth, comfortable ride, with standard strong safety features and a beautifully designed, sleek interior.
Basically the EcoDiesel is a no nonsense powerhouse with a conscious. It is uncompromising, typical of the Dodge brand and those who choose to drive Ram trucks over all others.
