Dodge has let the public in on some pricing news for the 2021 Dodge Challenger, including the new Challenger Drag Pak. This is the premium kind of muscle car that isn’t for the faint of heart in both its high-octane, top-tier engineering capabilities that allow for breakneck speed. Dodge has the Drag Pak priced at over $140,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee). The Dodge Challenger will see some new trim offerings including two new Widebody options for the R/T Scat Pack Shaker and the T/A 392. Allow us to break down the various differences offered.

The New Widebody Additions

The new trims are equipped with a more dynamic styling and have improved performance found under the hood. Drivers will fall in love with the impressive naturally aspirated 6.4-Liter 392 HEMI powertrain. With the Widebody treatment, the 3.5-inch growth to expand the width of the vehicle helps produce sharper turning ability and better grip when driving. The length added helped Dodge add the wider 20-by-11 inch wheels that carry 305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires. Drivers can expect to go faster and produce better times at the drag strip with either of these new entries to the Challenger family.

R/T Scat Pack Trim

How much improvement will an owner gain with the Widebody option? The R/T Scat Pack is nearly two seconds faster, which is about 12 car lengths faster compared to the non-Widebody form. The quarter-mile time is immensely fast at its 12.1-second mark at a top speed of 112 mph, hitting a faster time than the non-Widebody version by a little less than half a second. The enhancements for the Widebody are found with its SRT-tuned chassis and high-performance adaptive damping suspension. Additional perks come in the form of its dual-extractor hood, SRT Performance Pages, and the ability to engage the front brakes but leave the rear wheels able to showcase a tire-smoking burnout thanks to the Line Lock feature.

Owners will have the flare that is reminiscent of the 1970 Challenger R/T complete with the Shaker hood and SHAKER underhood decal. The R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody carries an engine-mounted hood scoop that looks the part of pure muscle as the added Mopar cold-air intake improves airflow to the engine. The conical air filter with an optimized airbox will also support improved performance. Customers can drive home the 2021 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody for $47,690 MSRP (Plus destination fee). Order books are now open, with the first deliveries scheduled to commence at the beginning of 2021.

T/A 392 Trim

The 2021 Dodge Challenger T/A 392 is the other new trim option that carries the Widebody offering now. Dodge took cuts from the first 1970 Challenger T/A, adding a new design within its Satin Black hood, wrap roof, and deck lid. The look is complete with its T/A body-side stripes, a sleek black spoiler with a T/A decal, a “392” fender decal, and Air Catcher headlamps with LED-illuminated T/A logos. The interior carries a 1970’s styled gauge cluster with highlighted white concave faces and black, glossy detailing. Black upholstered performance seating with cloth inserts complete the sharp look. The T/A 392 trim can be had for $49,090 MSRP (Plus destination fee).

This trim is not ready for purchase yet, but soon it will be, and deliveries will start during the spring of 2021. Both of these trims carry the impressive 392 HEMI V8 powertrain that offers 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque with rear-wheel-drive paired to a standard six-speed manual or optional eight-speed automatic transmission.
