Will There be a SRT Demon for the 2020 Dodge Charger?

The Dodge Charger has been catching up to all the perks that have been bestowed to the Dodge Challenger in recent years. From the long-awaited SRT Hellcat Widebody being added to the Charger in 2019, over two years after the SRT Hellcat Widebody was available for the Challenger. This time, the reports going around have Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) making its Dodge brand have a new SRT Demon, this time for the Charger. It’s well-known the lone year the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was made, back in 2018, was extremely popular and a rare vehicle with just 3,300 vehicles made.
Another SRT Demon Inspiration?
The 840 horsepower SRT Demon was an inspiration to those looking to drive a muscle car and perhaps that’s the focus to make the Charger stand out with its own SRT Demon trim. SRT stands for Street Racing Technology, which is essentially what the SRT Demon is. The one and only (for now) SRT Demon is famous for hitting a sub-10-second quarter-mile drag race time. The promotional image (pictured above) carries a Dodge Charger SRT with a Hellcat logo placed in the corner of the grille slot. The hood has a massive mail slot, which spans the whole width of the panel, just like the SRT Demon. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was the only Dodge SRT vehicle to have this look. Perhaps some people are reading too much into this, but then again, there is still a chance FCA and Dodge have a chance to bring back the famous Demon moniker.
If Not the Demon, Then What Is Coming?
There is also the possibility the Demon hood is going to be added to the Charger on some special-edition model coming up. FCA and Dodge love to include new special edition models with their muscle cars, offering several new entries every year. The SpringFest event has previously showcased a hint at “2023”, which ended up becoming true with the year 2023 being marked as when the Dodge Challenger will become upgraded. We’re excited about any new special edition Dodge muscle cars, but even more so if in fact, Dodge has the Charger set to gain an SRT Demon trim for the upcoming 2021 Dodge Charger. If not, maybe the suggestion of a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye might be the next new top-level trim for the Charger. That’s another trim that has not debuted for the Charger, but is currently available for the Dodge Challenger today.
