Automakers like Jeep have built an iconic line-up and continue to add to the mix new vehicles that will draw audiences and buyers in. The reemergence of the Jeep Wagoneer and the all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will serve as a reminder of what luxury Jeep is capable of. However, while these new SUVs are going to surely attract lots of families and buyers alike, Jeep will not produce a minivan anytime soon. When asked about the possibility, Brandon Girmus, Jeep Gladiator’s senior brand manager, told Muscle Cars and Trucks that the company is simply “not going to make a minivan.” However, there are more choices for Jeep owners to find now than ever in 2021.

Many Different Fits For Jeepers

In regards to the future products that are larger than the current crop of Jeep SUVs, those vehicles are “still going to be a Jeep,” Girmus said. The brand has specific characteristics that a minivan would not be able to live up to. The proper and distinct look of the Jeep brand has been moved before from SUV to pick-up rather seamlessly. The move to create the Jeep Gladiator pickup several years ago has paid off for the brand, but the focus will be adding more SUV options at the high-end segment. The mid-tier Jeep SUVs like the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee are still a viable option for shoppers. Those who want a Jeep SUV, but a compact one can opt for the Jeep Renegade or Jeep Compass

Jeep Being Upfront About Plans

The biggest reason we won’t see a Jeep minivan creation according to Girmus, is off-road capabilities and Trail Rated driving is not in the cards for a vehicle shaped like a minivan. The parent company to Jeep is the newly formed Stellantis brand that also owns Chrysler, so with the Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid under the umbrella of the company, this is not in the cards or current outlook. Sorry, Jeep minivan hopefuls. Then again, some might want Dodge to make a minivan since the brand successfully turned the ability to make a muscle car out of an SUV; all thanks given to the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat

Girmus added the Jeep brand is always bouncing off “new ideas” and could head in “new directions,”. This means we will have to wait and see where the Jeep brand goes next for its future. Jeep only offers vehicles that will make any owner happy that they can go not only on road safely but explore off-road terrains.
