The year of the Ram might as well be every year when the Ram 1500 introduces the kind of lineups they have year-in and year-out. The 2021 model year will bring plenty of fan fare, but the 2020 model year included a number of prized special editions, which we will cover. But let’s first get into the new Night Edition set to debut for the 2021 Ram 1500. Before long the new 2021 Ram 1500 lineup will debut, but we have this to share for customers to keep in mind.

The 2021 Night Edition Arrives Soon

The Ram 1500 Night Edition carries out a dark-themed trim package that can be had for both Big Horn and Laramie trims. The Night Edition kit includes sports black bits on its grille, headlight bezels as well as badges. The large black-painted 22-inch wheels are also included with 20-inch black-painted rollers. The Night Edition package can be purchased for $1,995 MSRP (Plus destination fee) and the optional Big Horn Level 2 Equipment Group that will take on a 7-inch gauge-cluster screen with a large 8.4-inch touchscreen that serves as a part of the infotainment system. Also included is the automatic dual-zone climate control setup.

The Limited Night Edition for the 2021 Ram 1500 includes Harman Kardon 19-speaker audio system, Sport performance hood, power mirrors, Tri-Gold Tonneau Cover, and BSW all-season tires. The powertrain options include the 3.6-Liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque, a 5.7-Liter HEMI V8 with eTorque, the 3.0-lIter EcoDiesel V6. All of these engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The retail price should be $60,45 MSRP (Plus destination fee).

Built to Serve Edition Ram

The 2020 Ram 1500 added the Built to Serve Edition for an additional $2,795 and must be paired with either the $1,300 Big Horn Level 1 Equipment Group or the $2,500 Big Horn Level 2 Equipment Group. Owners will gain an appearance that includes black bumpers, headlight bezels, side steps, grille, and badging to the pickup. Unique body-color fender flares and gray-painted 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires are also added. An optional four-wheel drive (for $3,500 extra) and the Built to Serve package also delivers hardware that makes off-road traveling more possible with its heavy-duty rear shocks, stout tow hooks, and skid plates to preserve the steering gear and transfer case.

The Built to Serve package includes the choice of four body colors including Ceramic Gray, Patriot Blue, Gator Green, and Diamond Black (both blue and black add $100 more to the tab). The former two hues emphasize an interior with blue cloth seat inserts and seat stitching, while the latter two offer gray cloth seat inserts and white stitching. These choices start at $42,480 MSRP. The 2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve’s interiors also bring front bucket seats, trim-specific badging, and a full-length center console for customers.

Step Into the Black Edition Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 Black Edition takes the conceit of the 1500 Night Edition and makes it even, well, darker. Restricted to the 2020 Ram 1500’s Rebel and Limited trims, the Black Edition lives up to its name with a full, complete blackout. This package is just $525 for drivers that opt for the Ram Rebel, but will cost $3,995 extra for owners that go for the Ram 1500 Limited. Going for the Black Edition also requires an extra $100 for a coat of Diamond Black Crystal Pearl paint. The black wheels are 18-inch in size on the Rebel and are fitted with 22-inch wheels for the Limited. Exterior accents and badges, bumpers, and headlight bezels are included. The package also brings black tow hooks, a folding tonneau cover, a sportier-looking hood, and a premium audio system to 1500 Limited models

The North and Launch Edition

Ram has brought back the North Edition for the 2020 model year after its debut in 2019. Starting as a four-wheel-drive Ram 1500 Big Horn with the trim’s Level 2 Equipment Group, the $48,580 North Edition includes bed-mounted “4×4” decals, heavy-duty front, an engine block heater, and rear shocks, and a set of 18-inch tires. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition begins at $92,010, but it brings the prized Level 2 Equipment Group ($7,920) and an additional $250 if an owner goes for two-tone paint finish. But this limited run included only 702 pickups and sold out in just four hours after being announced. The Launch Edition brought some nice features including beadlock-capable 18-inch wheels, red interior accents, carbon-fiber cabin trim, exterior graphics, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium audio system.
